How much does a home charger installation cost?

It depends on the charger you choose and how far the cable needs to run. Send us a few photos and we'll give you a fixed price. For the same charger and installation, we'll beat Octopus's advertised price.

When do I pay?

Only when the job's finished and you're happy with it. We don't take payment up front.

Do I need off-street parking?

Usually, yes. The charger needs to serve a space you own or have the right to use, so the cable doesn't cross the pavement. If you only park on the street, call us and we'll talk through what your council allows.

Are you approved installers?

Yes. We're OZEV approved for chargers and grants, an NICEIC Approved Contractor and Domestic Installer, and MCS certified for solar.

Do you answer the phone out of hours?

Yes. Calls are answered 24/7 by a real person, never a chatbot. Installations are booked during normal working hours, or evenings and weekends by arrangement.

Are your prices fixed?

Yes. Once we've seen your photos or surveyed, the price is fixed. If anything unexpected comes up, we explain and agree it with you before doing it.

Do you take a deposit?

No. You pay once the charger is installed, working and set up, and you're happy.

Can you fit a charger if I park on the street?

Trailing a cable across the pavement isn't safe or allowed. Some councils approve cross-pavement solutions, and there's a grant of up to £500 towards them. Call us and we'll talk it through honestly.

Will my fuse board need upgrading?

Sometimes. Older fuse boards may not have space or the right protection for a new circuit. We check from your photos or on the survey and include any upgrade in your fixed price, so there are no surprises.

Do you notify the network operator?

Yes. Every home charger has to be notified to the local network operator, National Grid in the Midlands. We do it for you, and register the work for Building Regulations through our NICEIC scheme.

Can you install a charger I've bought myself?

Yes, we can install any make of charger. Send us the model and photos of where you park, and we'll give you a price to fit it.

Do you set up the app?

Yes. Before we leave, we connect the charger to your Wi-Fi, set up the app, link your tariff, and show you how it all works.

Will a smart charger save me money?

Usually a lot. Smart chargers charge when electricity is cheapest, typically overnight, so you pay a fraction of the price of public charging.

Can I charge two cars?

Yes. Many chargers can share power between two cars, or we can fit two chargers. We'll check your supply can handle it.

Do you do commercial chargers?

Yes. Our sister company, The Car Charging Company, installs workplace, fleet and destination chargers, with grants of up to £500 per socket for businesses.
